Trauma-informed adult-youth mentoring program pairing trained mentors (including U.S. Air Force veterans on our operating board) with at-risk youth ages 10-17 referred through Carroll County DFCS, Paulding County DFCS, and partner agencies in West Georgia.
Curriculum integrates Safe Dates evidence-based elements with our PD-custom 8-Senses healing framework. Programming runs at two coordinated-use partner properties — Zen Country in Paulding County and Zen Villa in Carroll County — founder-controlled hospitality properties made available for nonprofit programming, wellness retreats, and partnership-based support initiatives.
Walk With Us:
- $25 — Steady Walker. Walks one West Georgia teen to the porch one full week. Country roads. Mentor in the passenger seat. Healing isn't loud.
- $100 — Anchor Trainer. Trains one mentor in the trauma-informed 8-Senses framework. Survivors feel it before they hear it.
- $500 — Weekend Witness. Opens one full retreat seat for a youth at Zen Country. The first night they sleep through. That moment.
- $2,500 — Cohort Anchor. Anchors one full-year mentee case. 52 weeks of a mentor who showed up. Cross-generational becomes legacy.
Why this matters:
At-risk youth in Carroll and Paulding counties face high adverse childhood experience (ACE) burdens with limited trauma-informed mentoring options matched to their case-plan goals. PD does not operate licensed services — we CONNECT, FUND, SUPPORT, and PLACE youth into the right resources alongside mentors who reflect both survivor leadership and veteran-anchored capacity.
