WOUNDED VETERAN RUN
FOLSOM, CaliforniaWounded Veteran Run was created in 2011 by Courtney Hvostal to honor the sacrifice of her brother and all other wounded veterans. Her brother was the sole survivor of an IED blast in Afghanistan that took the lives of four other soldiers. Courtney wanted to give back to those who have fought so hard and sacrificed for our freedoms. Wounded Veteran Run started out as a 5K run/walk and has evolved into a nonprofit offering its own programs and services to veterans.
Wounded Veteran Run proudly supports and works alongside other local veteran nonprofits who have established programs within our community. We also offer several of our own programs to support and give thanks to our service members. We hold an annual walk/run in Folsom, CA on Memorial Day to raise funds and awareness. We offer interview attire to Veterans at no cost through our 'Boots to Suits' program, we provide adaptive equipment to veterans in need through WVR Cares, we help military families at Christmas through our 'Holiday Cheer' program, and assist our student veterans by providing the funds for text books and other needs at the local community college Veterans Success Center.
