Puppy Raiser and Partner Program - Service Dogs to Veterans and Active-Duty Military Members

Freedom Dogs’ Puppy Raiser and Partner Program pairs skilled dog/trainer teams with wounded warriors and their medical care providers after the puppy has completed specialized training. This team supports participants during medical recovery or transition to civilian life, or from isolation to independence, by integrating the dog into their lifestyle and customizing training to meet their needs. Involvement in the dog's training fosters a sense of purpose, builds trust, and reduces anxiety and depression.

$50,000 covers the entire cost of one dog’s journey from puppyhood to retirement for our Puppy Raiser and Partner Programs. This investment includes veterinary care, medications, food, equipment, training, and handler support. This represents 19% of the budget [our goal is a minimum of 10 dogs this year, and to date, we have secured funding for three (3) dogs].
