GTC United (God, Teamwork, Community — united as one) was born out of crisis. Our work first mobilized in response to a devastating Central Texas tornado, where volunteers came together to assist families with debris cleanup, stabilization, and immediate relief support. In that initial response alone, our team helped serve over 200 families. Shortly thereafter, we expanded efforts to support more than 80 families affected by the historic Texas floods that occured on July 4th, providing both short-term emergency assistance and longer-term recovery support.
What began as disaster response and seasonal military holiday assistance quickly revealed deeper, ongoing needs. GTC United grew into a structured, veteran-led nonprofit providing year-round support to active-duty service members, veterans, military families, and local community members experiencing hardship.
From the beginning, our commitment has been to remove unnecessary barriers. We provide assistance without excessive paperwork, invasive requirements, or red tape—prioritizing dignity, trust, and timely support.
Our organization and board are primarily composed of active-duty military members, with the remaining leadership largely veterans. This structure provides firsthand understanding of military life, deployment cycles, emergency leave challenges, and financial pressures unique to service-connected households.
Today, GTC United operates through several core initiatives:
Disaster Relief & Recovery
We respond rapidly to tornadoes, floods, and other emergencies, assisting with debris cleanup coordination, supply distribution, volunteer mobilization, and stabilization resources. To date, our disaster efforts have directly supported more than 280 families across multiple large-scale weather events.
Market with a Mission
Developed to address ongoing food insecurity and financial strain, this recurring community food and essentials initiative provides groceries, fresh food, and critical household items to both military and civilian families. In a single four-month cycle, Market with a Mission distributed 58,000 pounds of food to 5,800 families, along with thousands of essential household. hygiene, and medical supply items—demonstrating both scale and sustained community impact.
Medical Supply & Equipment Access Program
This program exists to bridge healthcare access gaps. Many families encounter situations where critical medical supplies or equipment are not covered by insurance, are only partially covered, are delayed in approval, or are needed immediately while waiting on insurance authorization. Others may lack insurance altogether. This initiative provides temporary or supplemental assistance to help secure necessary medical supplies, adaptive equipment, or recovery-related items so individuals can maintain health, stability, and safety during vulnerable periods. The goal is to prevent further hardship while families navigate longer-term coverage or financial solutions.
Holiday Support Programs
Our Thanksgiving and Christmas initiatives provide meal kits and gift assistance for dependent children within military, veteran, and disaster-affected families. These programs reduce seasonal financial strain while protecting dignity and strengthening family morale.
As we continue to grow, GTC United is strategically developing expanded initiatives focused on advocacy, awareness, and prevention of mental health crises and suicidal ideation—particularly within military and veteran communities. We recognize the urgent need for proactive connection, early intervention, and long term support.
Operation Family First is designed to provide emergency travel and reunification assistance for active-duty service members who are unable to access traditional financial support options. This includes service members who have received a Red Cross message, are navigating emergency leave due to serious illness or the loss of an immediate family member, or are deployed while facing urgent personal hardship.
Financial barriers should never prevent a service member from being present during critical family moments. By removing those barriers, Operation Family First strengthens family stability, reinforces essential support systems, and reduces emotional distress during periods of heightened vulnerability.
Research consistently demonstrates that strong family connection is a protective factor against mental health crisis, prolonged grief complications, and long-term emotional strain. Timely reunification can help mitigate isolation, decrease acute stress, and promote resilience within military households.
Through this initiative, GTC United seeks not only to provide logistical support, but to safeguard the emotional well-being of service members and their families — ensuring that during life’s most critical moments, no one faces hardship alone.
Although GTC United is faith-based, assistance is never contingent upon religious belief, affiliation, or participation. We serve individuals and families from all backgrounds. For those who desire it, we offer prayer and spiritual encouragement, but services remain fully accessible regardless of faith perspective.
At its core, GTC United exists to close gaps—between crisis and recovery, between hardship and stability, and between isolation and connection. By uniting God, teamwork, and community as one, we work to ensure that no military family, disaster survivor, or struggling neighbor faces hardship alone.
