The Alexander Thomas Augusta Mental Health Grant is awarded to those veterans and dependents who are seeking to utilize mental health therapy outside of the DoD and VA systems of treatment. Once we verify service and need, we provide funding for those accepted.
Each recipient is responsible for finding a provider and for sending an itemized bill to Vet Play for each session. Failure to send a bill may result in termination of the grant funding. Those selected will be notified and given six weeks to make an initial appointment. If no appointment is made within that time, the grant will be forfeited and made available to another applicant.
We provide direct funding to each recipient for an initial six sessions with potential for follow-on therapy if there is an availability of funding, and
therapy sessions by the provider.
Each session grant will be $150.
