Operation Anchor (Youth & Family Resiliency)

Operation Anchor is a youth and family resiliency initiative created by Veterans Resource & Support Task Force (VRSTF) to support military-connected children, teens, and families through connection, confidence-building, mentorship, and community-based experiences.

Military life can place unique stress on families. Deployments, transitions, frequent change, reintegration, financial strain, caregiver stress, and the challenges that can follow military service often affect the entire household—not just the service member or veteran.

Operation Anchor is designed to create supportive environments where young people and families can build relationships, strengthen coping skills, develop confidence, and feel connected to a community that understands military life.

Programming may include:

• Youth resiliency activities and camps
• Family-focused events and experiences
• Mentorship and peer connection
• Outdoor and recreational activities
• Confidence and leadership development
• Educational and skill-building opportunities
• Family support and resource navigation
• Community-building experiences for military-connected families
• Partnerships with veteran, youth, and family-serving organizations

The goal of Operation Anchor is not simply to provide activities. It is to create meaningful opportunities for connection, stability, growth, and belonging.

VRSTF believes strong families are a critical part of veteran and service member well-being. Supporting children, spouses, caregivers, and families strengthens the entire military-connected community and can help reduce isolation, improve resilience, and create stronger long-term support systems.

Contributions to Operation Anchor help fund programming, supplies, transportation, activities, facility needs, family participation support, community partnerships, and other costs associated with creating safe, meaningful, and accessible experiences for military-connected youth and families.
