Texas VFW Foundation

One-time financial assistance grants for qualifying veterans who are Texas residents and found themselves in financial hardship through no fault of their own.

The Texas VFW Foundation was created by the Dept. of Texas, VFW, who believed there should be more available for needy and disabled Texas veterans. The focus is on one-time financial assistance to assist with basic living needs while coordinating with an agency that can best assist with the longer-term solution. For example, a recently discharged veteran finds him/herself in need due to inability to find a civilian job upon discharge. The Foundation assists approved applicants with direct financial assistance, payable to their creditor, on their behalf, while the veteran works with an employment representative of an agency whose mission is to help veterans find employment.
