Promise Project provides an educational path for children struggling with learning disabilities.
Working in partnership with Columbia University Medical Center, Promise provides free, state-of-the art evaluations and advocacy to underprivileged children and their families living in New York City. Our team uses the most advanced testing methods to evaluate children and pinpoint the true nature of their learning issues. Once they understand why a child is struggling, Promise helps families obtain the services their child needs in order to learn.
Promise takes a multidisciplinary approach, engaging neuropsychologists and educational specialists to help assess, evaluate and connect children to the services they need and deserve—with one-stop, comprehensive services that enable them to learn, excel, and reach their full potential:
Evaluate: Identify the exact nature of each child’s learning disability
Recommend: Define services the child needs in order to learn
Advocate: Facilitate and ensure recommended services are provided by schools
Empower: Help parents to understand and address their child’s needs
Train: Develop professionals to effectively treat children with learning disabilities
Research: Lead research to identify effective prevention and scalable interventions
In giving children the chance to learn and investing in scalable solutions, Promise is changing the trajectory of lives for the children we serve and for future generations.
