Corbett Heights Neighbors was formed in 2004 as the immediate successor to the prior neighborhood organization (Twin Peaks East Neighborhood Association) which had informally dissolved. (The first neighborhood organization in our neighborhood was started
in the 1890s.) CHN’s overall mission is to foster engagement among the residents, businesses entities and property owners within its defined geographic boundaries by providing a forum to discuss shared neighborhood, and larger civic, issues and concerns, to develop solutions and to help guide the direction of the neighborhood.
Key ongoing activities are organizing and sustaining maintenance of the number of otherwise unmaintained city-owned parcels within our area, and the empowerment of area residents with information on matters of local and civic concern, giving them more effective voice, as well as seeking to facilitate compromise among competing interests when those arise. Within the parameters of CHN’s mission, other activities and projects of more limited duration continue to arise.
