Back 2 School LA: Advancing Educational Equity Through Sports, Supplies, and Community

Back 2 School (B2S) Los Angeles is an annual flagship initiative of AKP Sports Foundation designed to support underserved and low-income children and families as they prepare for the academic year. Through the distribution of free backpacks, school supplies, and educational resources, LA B2S helps ensure students begin the school year equipped, confident, and ready to succeed.
Beyond material support, LA B2S serves as a vibrant community gathering that brings together youth, families, faith communities, volunteers, and local partners for a day of sports competition, mentorship, and family-friendly activities. Anchored by one of the largest basketball tournaments in Los Angeles, the event creates a safe and uplifting environment where young people experience positive role models, build peer relationships, and engage in healthy physical activity.
By combining tangible educational support with community engagement and mentorship, LA B2S advances educational equity, strengthens families, and invests in the long-term success and well-being of youth who may otherwise lack access to critical resources and opportunities.
