Benedict House is an emergency shelter for single, adult men, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community who are comfortable in a male-identifying shelter. Our age range for service is 18+. Our shelter operates with the goal of being as low barrier as possible while working to meet people where they are when they arrive at our door. We operate 24/7 with 24 emergency shelter beds and 3 medical respite beds that are contracted through the Virginia Mason/CHI Franciscan hospital system. We are staffed 24/7 and provide all hygiene products, food service (3 meals/day), access to free laundry services, as well as assist our residents in gaining financial stability, transportation, medical stability, outpatient treatment, and housing. Personalized case management is provided in a one-on-one setting and residents are supported in their road to stability through both staff and connected resources in the area.
