Foundation Launches "Anchorpoint": A National Decentralized Crisis Response Network for At-Risk Youth

TEMPLE, Texas — November 20, 2025 — The Uvalde Foundation For Kids, also known as The Youth Peace & Justice Foundation, (Charity ID 88-3268749) today announced the official national launch of the Anchorpoint Program, a groundbreaking initiative designed to provide immediate, decentralized sanctuary for youth experiencing homelessness, abuse, and acute family crisis.

Scheduled for full implementation on December 1, 2025, Anchorpoint represents a significant shift in crisis intervention, moving from traditional institutional shelters to a network of vetted, community-based volunteer residencies.

The program addresses a critical public health emergency: annually, over 4.2 million youth and young adults experience homelessness in the United States. With data indicating that up to 73% of these youth report victimization or violence, the need for immediate, non-institutional safety is urgent.

"The existence of the Anchorpoint Program is a direct moral imperative," said Daniel Chapin, Founder of the Foundation. "We are not just offering temporary shelter; we are offering an immediate reversal of trauma. In an often unsafe world, stability is the precursor to peace, and Anchorpoint provides that critical first step."

Innovative "Hub-and-Spoke" Model:
Unlike static shelters, Anchorpoint operates on a scalable Hub-and-Spoke model:

* The Hub (Foundation): Operates a 24/7 National Referral System (254-499-8027) and manages all liability, legal compliance, and specialized violence intervention protocols.

* The Spokes (Residencies): A network of private, volunteer-run chapters that provide physical sanctuary and "warm welcome" stabilization, strictly adhering to the Foundation’s Trauma-Informed Care (TIC) methodologies.

Rigorous Safety & Compliance Standards
To ensure program integrity, the Foundation has implemented a multi-layered vetting process for all Hosts, including comprehensive national background checks, Megan’s Law Registry clearance, and physical site inspections. Hosts receive mandatory training in child protection, de-escalation, and mental health first aid, ensuring they are prepared to serve not just as housing providers, but as skilled crisis responders.

Call for Partnership and Support:
As the program prepares for its December 1st launch, the Foundation is actively seeking strategic partnerships with youth-serving organizations and financial support to subsidize centralized training and insurance costs.

"We are building a bridge between immediate danger and long-term recovery," Chapin added. "We invite community leaders, donors, and potential volunteers to join us in anchoring these young lives in safety."
