The Overwatch Collective is a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit was co-founded by our President, Greg Grogan, who is an active First Responder and a U.S. Military Reservist. Jesse Coulter, our Vice President, who is active duty U.S. Military. Greg and Jesse met at their first drill weekend in the United States Coast Guard in August 2020. The original thought was to start a podcast sharing military stories from the field and just have a fun time messing around with like-minded individuals. The name was to be “Field Talk”; however, it was taken already. Jesse and Greg then decided to incorporate first responders and their families into the podcast. After some revisions and discussions with fellow first responders and veterans, it was decided that the goal of The Overwatch Collective is to be able to provide resources for those that are struggling with their mental health. Moreover, Greg and Jesse wanted to shed some light on areas such Post Traumatic Stress, Suicide, and the stigma behind asking for help. Greg and Jesse started the podcast in June 2021 and currently have 136 recorded episodes on Spotify and iHeart Radio with others planned to fill up the remainder of 2024 . Currently 18,805 downloads. We have hosted veteran meet ups and 4 annual fundraisers so far. We have traveled to different states to raise awareness and work with other non-profits with the same like-minded goals and have been able to connect with other first responders around the country. We have also had the opportunity already to speak at local police academies, peer support family nights, and we hope to continue to educate new hires, as well as their families, entering their profession with attending / speaking at future planned conferences. In addition, we host monthly Zoom workouts with fitness / nutrition coaches, yoga practices, and live chats with psychologists all free to anyone who wants to participate. Currently we have sent 261 people to therapy sessions to our 115 contracted/vetted therapists in 49 U.S. states, 2,270 therapy sessions either fully or partially funded. We have spent over $260,000 on therapy costs since Aug. 2022. Recently a U.S. Service Member contacted TOC and asked for assistance in getting in contact with one of our therapists ASAP and within 2 hours this Veteran was connected and started sessions. We also have a buddy program where people who are struggling can go to our website, see a photo and a bio of our 30+ buddies and can confidentially email whomever they feel they fit best with. We have seen success from this buddy program and have people who meet up weekly or monthly for check-ins. We will be planning our 2025 fundraiser and will continue to seek grants. The T.O.C. as we call it, shorten for The Overwatch Collective, Greg and Jesse set out help individuals across all areas of public service from Military, Fire, EMT, Paramedics, Law Enforcement, Correctional Officers, and Dispatchers, as well as spouses, significant others, and family members of the people who serve so selfishly. We starting sharing stories, experiences, and resources, and our podcast grew into a huge amazing community. Our Board Members are non paid positions.
