Career Empowerment & Suicide Prevention for Veterans and Military Families
efter VETS BEYOND THE UNIFORM FOUNDATIONVETS – Beyond The Uniform (VETS-BTU) is dedicated to combating veteran unemployment and addressing critical mental health concerns within the military community. With more than 230,000 unemployed veterans nationwide as of December 2024 and an alarming suicide rate of 22 per day, our mission is urgent and lifesaving.
Our Career Empowerment & Suicide Prevention for Veterans and Military Families Program provides comprehensive, no-cost services to veterans, active-duty personnel, military spouses, and working-age dependents who face unique barriers to employment—such as undervalued military experience, career gaps, frequent relocations, and missing skills.
Through a holistic approach, we deliver both career readiness and mental wellness support, empowering participants to achieve long-term stability, economic security, and resilience.
Program Services
Participants receive:
Personalized skills assessments and one-on-one coaching to define career goals.
Access to 200+ professional workshops (8 hours each) covering essential career and life skills.
Customized Career Success or Entrepreneurship Success Packages (45 hours each) tailored to individual pathways.
Certification programs in high-demand fields such as Project Management, Leadership, and Cybersecurity.
Ongoing mentoring, coaching, and training to ensure job placement, career growth, and entrepreneurial success.
Military spouses, who are vital to family stability, also benefit from no-cost workshops and certifications, opening new doors to career opportunities and reducing financial stress within the household.
By equipping veterans and their families with the skills, mentorship, and mental health support they need, VETS-BTU is not only addressing immediate employment and transition challenges—we are preventing isolation, identity struggles, and the mental health risks that too often follow.
Impact
With funding, we will expand these life-changing services, directly improving the well-being of veterans, military spouses, and dependents. Every investment in this mission ensures that those who have served our country—and their families—receive the tools and support they deserve to thrive.
