Clovis Economic Development Corporation (CED) is a nonprofit organization based in Clovis, New Mexico, dedicated to fostering sustainable economic growth, supporting entrepreneurship, and improving quality of life throughout Curry County and the surrounding region. Through partnerships, targeted initiatives, and inclusive strategies, CED works to strengthen the local economy by supporting businesses, attracting investment, creating jobs, and empowering individuals from all backgrounds to succeed.
CED’s mission is to drive economic prosperity in Clovis and Curry County through business development, workforce advancement, and community collaboration. Our goal is to build a vibrant, resilient, and inclusive economy that offers opportunity for all residents.
CED supports existing businesses by helping them navigate challenges, identify opportunities, and access resources. We assist with workforce needs, site selection, incentive programs, and regulatory guidance to ensure that local businesses can grow and thrive within the community.
Through targeted marketing and outreach, CED promotes Clovis and Curry County as a competitive location for new businesses and industries. We work to attract investment in sectors such as renewable energy, manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and technology by highlighting our region’s strategic advantages—such as affordable land, a skilled workforce, and excellent transportation access.
CED actively cultivates entrepreneurship by providing programs and support for startups and small business owners. One of our key initiatives is the Curry County Business Incubator, located at the Business Enterprise Center in downtown Clovis. The incubator offers flexible office space, co-working facilities (in partnership with The Firehouse Workspace), business education programs, mentorship opportunities, and access to professional networks. Our services are especially designed to assist entrepreneurs from historically underrepresented and underserved communities, helping remove barriers to entry and promoting inclusive economic development.
CED collaborates with local schools, higher education institutions, and training organizations to build a strong, future-ready workforce. We help connect job seekers with employment opportunities, support skills training programs, and promote career pathways in high-demand industries. Our goal is to align workforce development with the needs of both local employers and regional economic trends.
CED is committed to fostering an equitable and inclusive economy. We actively work to engage marginalized and underserved populations—including communities of color, women, veterans, rural residents, and individuals with limited access to traditional economic opportunities. By amplifying the voices of underrepresented groups and removing systemic barriers, we strive to create a community where all individuals feel valued, included, and empowered to contribute.
Our success is rooted in collaboration. CED partners with city and county governments, chamber of commerce, educational institutions, workforce development, nonprofit organizations, and private sector leaders to advance regional economic goals. Together, we implement strategies that address both short-term economic needs and long-term structural change.
CED takes a long-range approach to economic development. We recognize that meaningful, systemic change requires sustained commitment. Our programs and initiatives are designed to generate lasting impact by improving infrastructure, creating upward mobility, and building community resilience. Whether through investment in innovation, support for entrepreneurs, or inclusive planning, we remain focused on creating a strong economic foundation for generations to come.
Some recent examples of CED’s work include:
•	Establishment of the Curry County Business Incubator: Offering affordable office space, education, and mentorship to emerging entrepreneurs.
•	Expansion of Business Support Services: Helping local businesses recover from the effects of economic disruptions and adapt to new market demands.
•	Workforce Development Collaborations: Working with local institutions to enhance training and job placement services in critical sectors.
•	Equity-Focused Outreach: Launching marketing and engagement campaigns to connect with underserved and historically excluded populations.
CED primarily serves the City of Clovis and Curry County, but our impact extends to neighboring rural communities and the broader eastern New Mexico region. As a hub of regional development, Clovis plays a key role in the economic health of the surrounding area, and CED is proud to lead initiatives that support both urban and rural prosperity.
CED is governed by a volunteer board of directors representing a cross-section of local businesses, civic leaders, and community stakeholders. The organization operates with transparency, fiscal responsibility, and a commitment to measurable results. We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and comply with all state and federal reporting requirements.
CED exists to create economic opportunity, support business success, and build a thriving, inclusive community in Clovis and Curry County. With a focus on innovation, equity, and collaboration, CED is helping shape a stronger, more resilient economy.
