Smiles By Angels is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing books to underserved childrenin hospitals, foster care, and various communities. Our mission is to empower these disadvantagedand underserved children by promoting literacy, inspiring hope, strength, and joy through the gift ofreading. By giving children access to books, we not only put smiles on their faces but also helpimprove their literacy skills, reduce their stress, and transport them to different worlds through thepower of storytelling.
We believe that literacy is a fundamental right and an essential tool for personal growth, education, and success in life. By providing books to children facing difficult circumstances, we aim to createpositive changes and foster a love for reading that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Our vision is to create a world where every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to books and the opportunity to improve their literacy skills. We envision a societywhere the gift of reading not only brings smiles to children's faces but also opens doors to brighterfutures, better education, and improved well-being.
A grant will enable us to reach a larger number of underserved children in hospitals, foster care, and other communities. By partnering with institutions like Harbor UCLA County Hospital, LosAngeles General Medical Center, Oak Grove Center, Olive Crest, and others, we will distribute age-appropriate books to children who need them the most.
We aim to enhance literacy rates by encouraging children to read and fostering a love for books.Studies have shown that reading to hospitalized children can reduce pain and stress, which canhave a positive impact on their overall well-being.
Improved literacy can lead to better educational outcomes and increased opportunities for success
