Each November, Plano Flags of Honor brings our community together to say “thank you” to the veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and others who have served and sacrificed to protect our freedom and safety.
2026 marks the 10th anniversary of Plano Flags of Honor, and this year's event will be especially meaningful as our community also commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
At the heart of the event is a breathtaking field of 1,111 3' x 5' American flags at Red Tail Pavilion at Oak Point Park in Plano, Texas. Many of the flags carry personal dedication cards telling the stories of veterans, first responders, and other heroes. As visitors walk among the flags, they have an opportunity to read these stories, reflect on their service and sacrifice, and honor the individuals behind the uniforms.
Plano Flags of Honor has grown into a week-long community event involving veterans and first responders, families, schools, businesses, civic organizations, the Plano Police and Fire Departments, and volunteers from throughout North Texas. In addition to the flag display, the week includes ceremonies, educational and patriotic activities, veterans' programs, community events, and special tributes honoring those who have served.
The 2026 event will build upon ten years of community participation while creating special opportunities to recognize America's 250th anniversary and the generations of Americans whose service and sacrifice have protected the freedoms we celebrate today.
Our Mission
The mission of Plano Flags of Honor is to create a platform to honor veterans and first responders by sharing their individual stories in a visually and emotionally compelling manner, while raising funds to address the unique needs of those who put Service Above Self.
How Your Donation Helps
Plano Flags of Honor is made possible through the generosity of businesses, organizations, individuals, and volunteers. Donations and sponsorships help us create and maintain the 1,111-flag display and support the many programs, ceremonies, activities, equipment, logistics, and services necessary to make this week-long community event possible.
Net proceeds from Plano Flags of Honor are used to support organizations, programs, and causes that serve veterans, first responders, and their families, allowing the impact of the event to continue well beyond the week the flags are on display.
