FRIENDS OF THE BIGELOW CENTER FOR SENIOR ACTIVITIES INC

the Friends of the Bigelow Center for Senior Activities , Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit volunteer organization. The mission of the Friends is to provide funding for enhancement to the programs, services and facilities of the Senior center. In addition the organization host fundraising events, promotes community awareness and supports the Senior Center through advocacy initiatives.

We are a volunteer board that helps the Bigelow Center provide a welcoming place for seniors to socialize and enjoy a large variety of activities. We sponsor 2 main events each year, St. Patrick's day and Memorial Day celebrations. Throughout the year we also have concerts on the patio where seating for over 64 is now possible because of the newly donated patio furniture from the Friends. Corn hole games are played with the sets we recently donated to the Bigelow Center.

The Friends hosted a Memorial Day breakfast to honor Purple Heart veteran recipients as well as other veterans. They received a commemorative purple heart pin. The breakfast was a collaborative effort between the Friends and the Human services commission.
