communities. A significant portion of those assisted by Catalyst are individuals with disabilities or aging adults all of whom are low-income (80% of median income or less.)
Our restoration projects serve people in need by providing free construction-related services which they can neither do themselves nor pay someone else to do for them. Projects include accessibility upgrades, carpentry, flooring, siding, windows/doors, roofing, small additions, painting, yard reclamation, waterproofing, etc
IMPACT STORIES
At the age of 72, Ms. Siegert, a widowed individual with disabilities, found herself on the brink of eviction due to the deteriorating condition of her mobile home. Having called it home for 43 years, financial and physical limitations left her unable to address the repairs necessary to maintain the standards required by park management. Catalyst Partnerships stepped in, taking care of Ms. Siegert’s needs in a way that prevented her eviction, and ensured her ability to continue residing in a safe and habitable environment.
Mr. Cox, a 69-year-old veteran grappling with disabilities following a recent heart attack, faced a different but equally critical challenge. He lives alone on a fixed-income in the NE Portland home he has owned for 32-years. The exterior paint was in such a state of disrepair much of the siding and window trim was precariously close to being damaged beyond remediation. Catalyst Partnerships orchestrated a transformative intervention; removing all the damaged paint, repairing necessary cladding, and providing a thick new paint coating that will protect his property for the remainder of his life.

These impactful projects serve as illustrations of Catalyst Partnerships' commitment to community collaboration. In both instances, we partnered with local organizations and businesses to mobilize a dedicated team of volunteers and secure essential donations in-kind.

Through the dedication of our team, the support of our donors, and the resilience of our community, we navigated the complexities of the past year while maintaining fiscal responsibility and maximizing the impact of every dollar. 87% direct program costs and %13 admin and operations. (2023)
GETTING INVOLVED THROUGH VOLUNTEERING
PROJECT CREW VOLUNTEERS:
Although we are blessed by the voluntary efforts of a handful of local contractors & trades-professionals to oversee jobs, the vast majority of our volunteers are semi-skilled or unskilled neighbors who are willing to help. That's very inspiring to us! We encourage parents to bring their children, passing along the priceless life-lesson of helping others in need. We are also open to having volunteers with disabilities serve with us. All volunteers are approved through our application process, are organized by Catalyst leaders, and are managed by partnering construction contractor(s).
PROJECT SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS:
If you're not the construction 'hands-on' type, we can still use your help! We often need people to help with finding donations, purchasing materials and volunteer supplies, setting up volunteer areas, taking pictures, bringing food & drinks to projects, and serving at the volunteer check-in table at some larger projects.
