While serving a population of diverse visitors from local, state, national and international destinations, we play a vital role in telling the stories of our military past and cultural heritage. We pursue our vision of presenting our diversity with a collection of memorabilia, exhibits, educational displays and oral histories. Through outreach, social news media and on-site education, we honor all veterans and civilians with respect to the diverse ways in which they have served our country.
The DNASM and its members are committed to honoring, practicing and promoting diversity by encouraging staff and organizational capacity to attract, welcome and serve a diverse audience and membership. We believe that our military museum offers a unique opportunity for people to understand and feel the strength and values of our country.
In addition to WWII and other era military memorabilia displays and photos, we have on display a WWII TBF Avenger that was pulled from Lake Michigan after 50 years. This aircraft has been restored by our volunteers. Also on display is an F-14 Tomcat Jet, a PTF-3 Vietnam Patrol Boat, a MASH Korean War Helicopter, a Jenny Aircraft 2/3 Replica and a 1953 Army Jeep as part of our walking tour.
Donations in any amount are needed and greatly appreciated to help our dedicated Volunteers keep this important military history museum open now and for future generations of adults and youth to learn about the sacrifices made by our Veterans to protect our freedom.
