Low-income families include senior citizens, veterans, families, single people who are in need of shelter. The families can provide a safe and secure environment to raise their children and have affordable monthly mortgage payments, Habitat offers a Hand Up not a Hand Out to families. Habitat for Humanity of Marion County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building simple, decent houses with community volunteers in partnership with qualified families who are currently living in inadequate housing.
The ultimate goal of Habitat for Humanity is to eliminate poverty from the face of the earth by constructing and building adequate and basic housing. Our words and actions are for the ultimate purpose of putting shelter on the hearts and minds of people in such a powerful way that poverty housing and homelessness become socially, politically, and religiously unacceptable in our nation and world.
Habitat for Humanity of Marion County has been serving this community since 1989 and built or rehabilitated over 260 homes to provide decent, affordable homes for low-income families. We believe 100% of Your donation should be used towards the construction of a new Habitat home, zero percent administrative costs.
