National Museum of the Mighty Eighth Air Force

Pooler, Georgia

Our mission is to preserve for all Americans the stories of courage, character, and patriotism displayed by the men and women of the Eighth Air Force from World War II to the present.

The Museum’s 90,000 square foot facility encompasses exhibits displaying photographs, letters, diaries, journals and artifacts that together capture the essence of this significant time in our nation’s history. The 100,000 visitors, 20,000 students, and others who visit each year from around the world hear stories of courage, commitment, and patriotism displayed by our World War II heroes. The 9,000+ books, original photographs and manuscripts, oral history interviews and personal accounts from World War II veterans in the Roger A. Freeman Research Center are utilized by authors, historians and students completing in-depth research on Eighth Air Force history.
