Disaster Relief Emergency Meal Kits (EMK)

Emergency Meal Kits (EMK) will assist individuals and families that live in disaster zones and need disaster/hunger relief. Every year, people around the world suffer from hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, and other disasters, with an estimated 800 million people going to bed hungry each night. Around 38 million people face hunger in the U. S. alone, including more than 12 million children. Operation Blessing aims to help those facing disasters/hunger by supplying Emergency Meal Kits (EMK):
• These EMK’s feed a family of 4 for 3 days with breakfast, lunch, dinner, and additional snacks.
• Each EMK also includes an encouraging note, to let individuals and families know they are being thought of and cared for.
• These EMK's provide beneficiaries nutritional foods that are shelf stable and do not require electricity, hot water, or kitchen tools – such as can openers. Following most disasters, families are left without power, clean water, food, and other household utensils and/or the resources to procure meals on their own.
• EMK's are assembled and stored at Operation Blessing distribution centers in Florida, Tennessee, Texas, and/or Virginia and then distributed to individuals in need through local emergency management, relief network partners, and/or distributions directly from our relief teams.
These Emergency Meal Kits will help families impacted by disasters to have ready to go meals that will sustain them until they can get the help and resources they need.
