Chinese American Veterans History Project

This project will record via video or other media the military history of Chinese American Veterans in the San Francisco Bay Area as well as the American Legion members of Cathay Post 384, the oldest Chinese American Veterans Organization in the United States. As the World War II Veterans are dying at a fast rate, it is incumbent on us to pass their legacy down to their family members and friends. Korean War and Vietnam Veterans also are dying at a rapid rate due to medical conditions associated with exposure during time in service. Many do not have the means to share their stories with others. Funding will cover transportation, meals, a videographer and other expenses needed to preserve their memories, such as posters & display items for an exhibit.
