MILITARY SPOUSE JD FOUNDATION

The Military Spouse JD Network Foundation (MSJDNF) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to empowering military spouse attorneys to thrive as professionals, advocates, and leaders in service to their communities. Founded in 2014 as the charitable arm of the Military Spouse JD Network, MSJDNF exists to break down barriers to legal careers caused by the unique demands of military life, and to harness the talent, resilience, and dedication of military spouses to break down these barriers and give back to the military community.

MSJDNF invests in the education, development, and advancement of military spouse attorneys through programs that build legal expertise, strengthen advocacy skills, and cultivate professional networks. Through targeted support for educational events, leadership development opportunities, and mentorship, we ensure that military spouse attorneys are prepared to excel in their careers while contributing meaningfully to the legal profession.

MSJDNF also channels the skills and passion of military spouse attorneys to address critical legal needs within the military and veteran communities. By supporting pro bono initiatives and creating opportunities for service, we help ensure that those who serve and their families have access to justice and the legal support they deserve.

Signature programs like Making the Right Moves, MSJDNF’s premier professional development and networking event, bring together military spouse attorneys from across the country to share knowledge, build community, and advance their careers. MSJDNF hosts local networking and hiring events, as well as accessible panel discussions from legal experts on topics relevant to the military spouse legal professional experience. These gatherings not only provide essential training and mentorship but also foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose among those navigating the challenges of legal careers alongside military life.

New for 2026, MSJDNF has rolled out a Scholarship program in order to lessen the economic burdens for military spouses and allow them to apply for licensure reciprocity or take a bar in a new state as a result of a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move, as well as attended helpful professional development conferences. This scholarship initiative reflects MSJDNF’s strategic commitment to eliminating systemic financial obstacles and ensuring that military spouse attorneys can sustain and advance their professional trajectories despite the demands of military service.

Exclusively funded by charitable donations, MSJDNF relies on the generosity of individuals, foundations, and partners who share our belief in the power and potential of military spouse attorneys.
