This Able Veteran

This Able Veteran provides fully-trained service dogs for veterans with psychological and physical injuries as a result of their service or their work as first responders or healthcare workers. Our service dogs are trained to interrupt the symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress and to support veterans with mobility issues. Each dog is custom trained to meet their individual veterans needs - including alerting to signs of rising anxiety and to interrupt nightmares. The pairing of the veteran and service dog takes place over a three-week Trauma Resiliency program. In addition to learning how to work with their service dog, the veteran learns skills and techniques to help them cope with their injuries. Our goal is to help the veteran fully return home. Everything we do is at no cost to the veteran.
