The Foundation, through community based grants and direct support of statewide nonprofits, seeks to ensure those in need get the assistance they deserve. Through its Bike for Books Program, the Foundation seeks to increase student reading and comprehension skills, recognize positive student achievements, provide an attainable goal, with life enhancing results and encourage physical exercise. Through its Veterans assistance programs the Foundation seeks to ensure those individuals that served their country are not forgotten and receive the care they have earned.
In 2018, the Maine Masonic Charitable Foundation announced a new partnership with the Maine chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Providing financial support to ensure NAMI training initiatives on mental illness and suicide prevention are available to all school district in Maine. Through this partnership, which continues in 2023, we have helped train hundreds in identifying and helping those with mental illness, especially young adults through their Teen Text line.
The Foundation also offers financial support to encourage community betterment projects, healthy and safe youth activities and drug and alcohol free high school graduation celebrations.
