History
Founded in 1979 as Hunterdon Youth Services (HYS), Binnacle House has spent the last 35 years safeguarding children, strengthening families, and building responsible citizens. What began as an emergency shelter for children, from throughout the state of New Jersey, has expanded into a continuum of care for youth who are not safe with their families of origin.
In 2022, we became a Community Foundation providing essential funds to other nonprofits and donor directed giving.
