LOCAL COMMUNITY SUPPORT
Our members work year-round to fund and organize programs that directly benefit families, students, and veterans in our area.
SCHOLARSHIPS: Up to 8 Interact Club Senior Scholarships awarded annually to students from Islip and East Islip High Schools, including the Kathleen Cooney Memorial Scholarships.
INTERACT CLUBS: We are involved with two local high schools through the interact clubs which focus on student leadership building and community service.
THANKSGIVING BASKETS: Working with school social workers, we provide turkeys, sides, and gift cards to 30 families across Central Islip, Islip, and East Islip school districts.
SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Distributed to new students in three school districts based on needs identified by school social workers.
FOOD PANTRY SUPOORT: We collect non-perishable food and wellness items for seven local food pantries, including St. Mark’s, St. Mary’s, and Trinity Lutheran Church, especially during our annual Rotary Epic Day of Service.
VETERAN & FIRST RESPONDER SUPOORT: Donations are made to local fire departments, first responders, and veteran-focused organizations. Additionally, we host an annual Veterans Appreciation Luncheon with the entertainment to honor those who served.
CAMP PAQUATUCK: Located in Center Moriches, NY, Camp Paquatuck is a sleepaway camp serving children and young adults (ages 6–21+) with physical and developmental disabilities. The camp offers a safe, inclusive environment where campers enjoy swimming, boating, arts and crafts, adaptive sports, music, and more. It promotes self-esteem, independence, and social growth, while also providing respite for caregivers. The camp serves nearly 500 campers annually and relies on donations and volunteers to maintain its high-quality programming.
SNAPPER DERBY EVENT is another wholesome activity we organize, with Rotary Club of Bay Shore, for youth and family at the Gilbert State Park. This brings our community together for a day of fun and fishing.
YOUR DONATION helps us continue these vital programs and expand our reach. Together, we can make a lasting difference in the lives of children, families, and veterans — both here at home and around the world.
