PADMASAMBHAVA PEACE INSTITUTE
Cazadero, CaliforniaPadmasambhava Peace Institute (PPI) is an environmental and educational nonprofit founded in 2003. In addition to providing affordable retreat facilities for a range of communities, we are stewards of 485 acres of coastal redwood lands that are traditional Kashia Pomo Native American territory, situated above the mouth of the Russian River, just north of San Francisco. We are working to minimize wildfire risk while restoring the coastal forest and grasslands to good health.
PPI hosts volunteers year-round from all over the world, and we focus on projects to mitigate risks from wildfire and help native species to emerge and flourish. We employ practices based on Indigenous land management techniques such as controlled burning, while serving the groups who come here for healing, community building, and training.
