WeReach is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting economic mobility and social equity through workforce development and small business technical assistance. Founded to serve under-resourced communities, WeReach focuses on equipping individuals and families with the tools and training needed to succeed in today’s workforce and entrepreneurial environment.
Mission: WeReach is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering individuals in communities of color to attain economic prosperity through innovative workforce development and entrepreneurship programs.
WeReach delivers targeted workforce development and entrepreneurship programs that respond to the needs of underrepresented communities across Massachusetts. Our programs are designed to help individuals gain industry-relevant skills, access career pathways, and build sustainable businesses.
Through funding from the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC), WeReach provides training and job placement support in the clean energy sector, helping participants access high-demand careers in weatherization, solar, and energy efficiency.
With support from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), WeReach conducts research on creating career pathways from communities of color to cybersecurity apprenticeship opportunities. This work focuses on identifying access barriers and designing effective strategies to help more individuals from underrepresented communities enter and advance in the cybersecurity field through apprenticeship programs.
Through funding from the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation (MGCC), WeReach provides technical assistance and funding support to small businesses. This program helps businesses strengthen their operations, improve sustainability, and access financial resources to grow and thrive in the market.
In the past two years, WeReach has supported over 250 job seekers in completing industry-recognized training and securing employment. We have provided technical assistance to more than 30 small businesses, helping them formalize operations, access capital, and grow sustainably. Our work is supported by state and federal agencies as well as private foundations, and we continue to expand our impact in Gateway Cities across Massachusetts.
Communities of color and under-resourced populations across Massachusetts continue to face significant disparities in access to educational advancement and career pathways that support long-term economic security. Many individuals experience unstable employment and systemic barriers to upward mobility. Without opportunities for education and workforce readiness, families often remain in cycles of poverty, limiting their ability to achieve financial independence and build generational wealth.
Our goals are to enhance educational outcomes through career-focused skill development, increase employment rates by supporting job placement in growing sectors like clean energy and supply chain management, and empower participants to achieve financial independence. We anticipate serving over 150 individuals and 35 small business annually, leading to increased economic mobility, business creation, and greater access to career opportunities.
