VETERAN WOMENS CONNECTION

VWC fills the gap when speed saves lives. To continue our work, we rely on donor-funded, flexible resources. Emergency housing, transportation, food, and safety needs cannot wait for grants or government reimbursement cycles. We must keep funds available so we can answer when we get notified of a need. We pride ourselves on "applying the tourniquet!" Delays can mean sleeping in a car, returning to an unsafe situation, losing custody of children, or falling deeper into crisis.

Once the immediate crisis is stabilized, VWC connects each woman veteran to trusted, long-term support organizations that can provide sustained housing solutions, healthcare, employment assistance, and trauma-informed care. Our role is critical: without immediate intervention, many women veterans never make it to long-term programs.

Women veterans face unique risks that increase their vulnerability to homelessness, including military sexual trauma, domestic violence, caregiving responsibilities, and limited access to gender-specific services. Too often, existing systems are slow to respond or are not designed with women veterans in mind.

Our focus is always to:
- Respond immediately when a woman veteran is in crisis
- Secure safe, emergency shelter without delay
- Stabilize urgent needs and prevent further harm
- Bridge women veterans to long-term, sustainable care
