Our Vision Statement
Rocky Mountain Service Dog Project supports First Responders and Veterans in need, giving them the tools required to take the next step towards a healthier life by assisting in obtaining and the training of service dogs. We vow to provide First Responders and Veterans with a highly trained service dog to enhance their physical and psychological quality of life, help them regain self-sufficiency and the independence they deserve and desire. These men and women have selflessly given to our country whether it was at the city, state, or federal level. They deserve our assistance in obtaining again what others take for granted…a “Normal Life.”
We will hold fundraisers, seek sponsors, and find all grants available to pay for these service dogs and the training so the First Responder or Veteran does not have to worry about anything other than working towards that “Normal Life” with their service dog beside them.
We will provide education to the community about service dogs through demonstrations, social media, presentations to businesses so they are aware how to handle a person with a service dog. We will fight to maintain their rights to Public Access with their K9.
We will establish an emergency fund that the First Responder or Veteran can apply to if they are in need of emergency assistance for veterinary bills or food. We will support them in any way feasible.
Last but not least, we will maintain a high standard for the K9s with regards to breeding, health, and training. We shall do this through rigorous screening of potential dogs and continuing education for the K9 Trainers and K9 Handlers.
