We hear so many times from executives that they wished there were opportunities like ODI when they were in college. Students leave inspired and ready to test what they've learned. Executives have been known to connect with students beyond the event through internships and mentoring sessions; an essential element to starting a career.

STUDENTS are tomorrow's leaders, thought-leaders and innovators. Yet one of their biggest challenges can be a lack of opportunities to use their untapped abilities and talent. That's exactly what One Diverse Industry (ODI) seeks to change. By providing unfettered access to today’s top media executives, students will get access to powerhouse personalities to be inspired, gain incredible insights, and prepare for a new career. In one day, at no cost, they'll revel in a series of keynote speeches, interviews, Q&As, and workshops that create a visceral experience of mentorship. For an entire, intensive day, ODI pulls back the curtain and shows students how to go from the classroom to the boardroom.

We have hosted over 6,000 students over the last 7 years, and worked with over 150 executives from media and technology. We are often told that the day has changed them, that they are excited about the future and are so glad they attended. Several students have reached out offering to volunteer in some way with the conference development. We have numerous students and recent graduates that have been accepted into internships and early career positions.

We are a grassroots organization and sponsorship is our biggest outreach. EVERY dollar helps move this mission forward.

One Diverse Industry is a FREE one-day master class for college and grad students from NYC and around the country to get a deep, immersive dive into all aspects of the media and entertainment industry. It is run by a combo of veterans of the industry AND millennial execs, with the aim of strengthening our industry through diversity.

Students come from all over the east coast (350+ students each year from as far as Virginia and Florida), and classrooms and students across the country stream the event live online. As a recruitment conduit for great diverse interns or entry level gigs, this event is pretty unparalleled.

Our 2021 agenda was the most impressive yet. We hosted 6 keynote speakers including American Icon, Gloria Steinem, Oprah Winfrey Networks' President, Tina Perry, and CBS CEO, George Cheeks. In addition, we offered 6 diverse panels and a networking opportunity with industry giant, Discovery Inc.'s recruiting team.

ODI is in it's 10th year, and the only reason we produce it is because of the huge benefit we’ve seen it offer to the students - an incredibly diverse community each year - and the execs who participate. Both groups always come away having learned a great deal about our industry, and we believe it has helped make the industry stronger as a result.
