Founded in 2019 by a service-related, disabled veteran, Arching Oaks Arts and Culture Center is located on twenty acres in Eustis, Florida. The organization is dedicated to providing its community with high-quality, artistic and cultural experiences rooted in Japanese tradition and facilitated by experts in their fields. During a time when there is a drastic increase in anti-Asian discrimination, the need for cross-cultural awareness and understanding is more dire than ever before. Arching Oaks’ programming strives to increase this awareness within its community and beyond.
The Arching Oaks facilities boast one of only four traditional Japanese Kyudojos in the U.S. (training space for Japanese archery), a traditional Japanese tea room, indoor and outdoor classroom spaces for classes in Japanese arts and crafts and educational lectures, a Zen rock garden, plus walking trails and a large pond for the practice of Shinrin Yoku (Forest Bathing). In 2024 the organization finished construction of a 4000 square foot, multi-purpose education building that accommodate large audiences for music and dance performances, lectures and presentations, and training sessions for the Budo arts (traditional Japanese martial arts).
Although Arching Oaks Arts and Culture Center has been in operation since only 2019, its reputation has steadily grown as it continues to implement its mission of providing unique, artistic and cultural experiences to all members of the community.
