Capital Creative Showcase (CCS) is an annual event to showcase the Sacramento region's video game developers, artists, musicians, and creative talents. We have hosted an annual showcase event for 9 years and 2024 will be our 10th event. The main purpose of the event is for local creative talents to display their products, to connect them with the public and generate interest in their works, to provide growth and development opportunities for them, and to drive interest in the region's creative community.
In 2023, we expanded the showcase to include a special focus on student talents and worked with area high schools and the graduates from our pilot LVL UP game development class (now PGJ ED) so that they could also participate and showcase their works. Students were not charged for their participation and we received overwhelming praise and support from students, parents, faculty, and attendees alike for this expansion.
CCS also has the potential for becoming a local trademark showcase for area indie creative talents, to include expansion to support similarly challenged indie creative arts, such as indie musicians, indie filmmakers, and indie artists. We envision the event growing to become a creative festival and celebration of our region's talented people.
Donations would be used to develop or expand this event, pay for marketing, venues, equipment, staff, or celebrity/notable speakers, make the event free to attendees, or subsidize some or all of participants' fees.
