Sisterhood For Good Inc. (SFG) is an all-volunteer, women-only, 501(c)(3) public charity dedicated to enhancing our community through a strategic Annual Grants Program.
SFG's ultimate purpose is to raise funds to help enrich the lives of those in Sarasota, Manatee, and the Lakewood Ranch communities. Sisterhood For Good was established in 2011 as a donor advised fund of a local community foundation. In 2018, our extensive growth in membership and fundraising allowed Sisterhood For Good the financial independence to become a non-profit organization.
Our organization unites women who share common philanthropic goals. We derive our strength from the integration of the energies, talents and expertise of our diverse and dynamic members.
Funds collected through Membership Dues & two (2) annual Fundraisers by SFG are distributed through SFG’s Annual Grants Program to qualified organizations whose programs must make an immediate, direct impact to a specific local project or cause. Grant selection is implemented through a democratic voting process by our entire Membership.
SFG's grant application period runs from January 1st with a deadline for grant submissions as the last Friday in April of each calendar year. A grant review committee will thoroughly evaluate all applications for consideration. Qualifying non-profits selected to receive grants will be presented with the allotted funds in June of each calendar year.
Sisterhood For Good accepts unsolicited proposals for a variety of programs and causes. The Organization must have a location and serve in Manatee and/or Sarasota County. SFG does NOT provide grants to support lobbying of any kind, hard asset improvements, capital campaigns or operational funding.
