Beneficial Sound is an all volunteer staff dedicated to bringing the healing sounds of the Gongs directly to your door - wherever you are and whenever you need them!
We service individuals and organizations in the great states of Washington and Oregon.
Although we believe that anyone and everyone can benefit from Gong Bath Meditation, we offer private and group meditations in three focused areas: Stress Reduction, Cancer Wellness and Community Outreach.
CANCER WELLNESS PROGRAM (CWP)
The CWP is focused on providing free events for patients, survivors and caregivers.
We perform regular Gong Bath Meditations in the greater Seattle and Portland areas. We partner with Cancer Lifeline, a large non-profit in Seattle helping thousands of cancer patients build strength through their support groups and classes.
We also provide our Gong Mediations at leading cancer centers including Overlake Medical Center, EvergreenHealth & Halvorsen Cancer Center, Legacy Good Samaritan Health and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance (UW, Fred Hutchinson and Children’s Hospital).
We provide, safe, supportive sound healing events that really do make a difference.
STRESS REDUCTION PROGRAM (SRP)
The SRP is focused on providing free and donation based events for those afflicted with stress and trauma. The program is led by Katie Stickney, MA, LMHC (in Seattle, WA) and by Claudia Weber, Clinical Trauma Professional (in Portland, OR) and works closely with counselors, therapists and psychologists in the stress/trauma field to promote events.
We are currently offering regular SRP events at Yoga studios in Seattle and Portland that are open to the general public.
We also work directly with the US ARMY providing regular Gong Meditations to soldiers in the Warrior Transition Battalion at Joint Base Lewis McChord in Tacoma Washington. Working closely with the occupational therapists at JBLM, we are developing strategies that are optimal and have the biggest impact for our soldiers and veterans.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAM (COP)
The COP provides Gong Bath Meditations and workshops to a wide variety of audiences.
We offer group and private events at Yoga studios, wellness centers, higher education and K-12 institutions, Yoga conferences and festival and even weddings!
We also perform Gong Certification Training, offering three levels of training from Partitioner to Master.
COP events are paid services that allow us to continue to offer our Cancer Wellness and Stress Reduction events free of charge.

What is Gong Bath Meditation?
When we want to clean our bodies, we use soap and water. A Gong Bath Meditation uses sound and vibration to cleanse us on the inside - emotionally and physiologically. There is no water involved, nor clothes removed.
Beneficial Sound Gong Bath Meditations start with a brief explanation on the benefits of the gong, followed by a short breath exercise to promote the flow of energy and to create a receptive mind-body state for deep relaxation and meditation.
Participants then get comfortable either lying down (preferred) or a similar comfortable position. The Gongs are then played for 30 to 60 minutes to cleanse the subconscious and awaken the practitioner to a transcendent state of awareness.
During the gong bath, multiple Gongs and mallets are used to bring out the full spectrum of beneficial vibrations and frequencies.
Just as a body massage works out tight and knotted muscles, the "sonic massage" of a Gong Bath Meditation works out emotional issues that we need to release in order to move forward in life.
The listener only has to let go and let the sound of the Gongs do the work. The experience is effortless and the results profound.
We gently build the sound and intensity of the Gongs while playing and then let the sound decay. The build and release cycles are deeply therapeutic.
Once the Gong playing is complete, there are a few minutes of silence.
This is a time of deep relaxation and expansion, where transformation and healing occur. This quiet time allows the listeners to receive the information that is most beneficial to them.
We conclude with sweets and community.

What are the benefits of Gong Bath Meditation?
A Gong Bath Meditation is a unique and highly personal experience. The gong speaks to each one of us individually, meeting us wherever we are on our life journey. During the meditation, all levels of your Being - physical, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual - will benefit from the deep, healing resonance of the gongs.
EMOTIONAL CLEANSING
For most people, a gong bath is a deeply relaxing and peaceful experience.
The gong works to have a clearing effect on emotional issues, breaking up limiting and negative thought patterns, and as a result, is an excellent therapy option for stress related issues, such as depression and anxiety.
Others go more deeply and may have profound healing experiences.
ENERGETIC BALANCING
Gong Meditation is the practice of "re-tuning" the human being back to ideal frequencies via a universal physical and biological principle known as Sonic Entrainment.
The human body knows what feels harmonious and tunes into what is needed during the meditation, and via sonic entrainment brings us back into harmonic balance, the peak of physical and emotional well-being.
PHYSICAL STIMULATION
The vast range of rich overtones produced by the gong deeply bathes every cell of the body - muscles, bones, organs, nervous system, etc. - and research* has shown that the sound can progressively destabilize the structure of cancer cells, ultimately leading to their explosion.
*The Influence of Sound on Human Cells by Fabien Maman (Series XII - Cancer Cells with Gong).
Gong Bath Meditation has been shown to have myriad additional physical and emotional benefits.
These include: improving flexibility and coordination, increasing endorphin levels, boosting immune and glandular functioning, reducing tension and regulating stress-related hormones, and even improving digestion.
