SAFE HAVEN EQUINE WARRIORS INC
Sykesville, MarylandSafe Haven Equine Warriors (SHEW) is a Maryland-based non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the humane treatment of all equines. Our primary focus is to rescue, rehab, and rehome equines either suffering from abuse, neglect or in imminent danger of slaughter, abuse, or neglect.
SHEW is committed to educating the public on responsible equine ownership and care, as well as the perils equines are subject to in today’s society.
SHEW strives to be a pillar of the area, helping with countless outreach events and community assists.
Safe Haven Farm has been involved in rescue for more than thirty (30) years. In 2017, SHEW took the next step and gained 501(c)(3) status. Since then, SHEW has assisted more than 60 horses, through community outreach and networking, through direct rescue from the slaughter pipeline, or through owner surrender. The vast majority have been placed in loving, adoptive homes. A few, with more serious medical issues, will remain with Safe Haven Farm (adopted by Tina Snyder, executive director).
