Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley has a vision of safe homes and communities for everyone. For 30 years, the organization has transformed the lives of our neighbors in need by providing critical home and facility safety repairs to preserve affordable home ownership and restore safe living environments.
In our community, many seniors, veterans and families with disabilities are living in dangerous and unsafe homes, at risk of falls and injuries and do not have the money to make necessary repairs. Rebuilding Together Silicon Valley keeps homeowners out of shelters and care facilities and ensures safe, dry and warm housing. The impact extends beyond homes to revitalize neighborhoods across Santa Clara County.
Repairs are addressed through three programs:
Rebuilding Day: Each October and April, groups of volunteers armed with paintbrushes, saws, hammers and shovels join together to repair and transform homes and community facilities, dedicating their time in the spirit of service and community during the 4th Saturday of the month, Rebuilding Day Projects.
Safe At Home: Throughout the year, the Safe At Home program provides aging in place and fall prevention modifications to provide for immediate homeowner safety and accessibility in the home.
Critical Services Repairs: Year-round repairs that address what may cause catastrophic damage to the home or person’s health, such as roofing, furnaces, water heaters, plumbing and electrical.
All work is at no cost to clients and includes nearly all aspects of repair and rehabilitation where residents can live in warmth, safety, and independence.
