SYSTER Project isthe empowerment program of the Moretta Community Development Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization. We're proud to devote our energyadvocating for technology education, diversity, equity and inclusion and the empowerment of historically disadvantaged, underserved, underrepresented and under-resourced, communities, kids and families in need.

We are for the empowerment of young people all over the world and their ability to live safe, healthy, happy, creative, digitally connected and productive lives as they grow into the technology leaders, innovators and entrepreneurs of ourfuture.

OUR VISION. Our vision is for all children to haveaccess to learning tools, technology resources and school supplies to help them achieve their self-directed goalsanddreams ofeducational excellence. Our commitment is to help them gain access to the services, learning resources and technology tools they'll need to succeed.

The SYSTER Project (Self-Sufficiency Through Training, Education and Resources) Back To School Cool Empowerment project supports backpack, school supply giveaway and classroom technology resource projects. The SYSTER Project is a leadership development and capacity building project of the Moretta Community Development Foundation. (MCDF) and connects essential school supplies, tools and resources to under-served at risk youth and school aged youth (5th grades through 12th grade) from low to moderate income households, families and classrooms in need. The community projects aim to create school to career pathways in technology related careers or skills-based jobs and inspire the next generation of technology, innovation and entrepreneurs.

YES! YOUTH EMPOWERMENT SUMMER TIME LEARNING. The youth empowerment summer (YES) projects feature youth tech camp and math festival engagement activities to introduce young people to tech careers and educational opportunities including cybersecurity and related tech industries. Participants can enjoy meeting and interacting with both peers and mentoring professionals who share their experiences, demonstrate the latest innovations from technology, arts and creative entertainment, film, digital designing platforms and media industry sectors.

PATHWAYS TO INTERNSHIPS AND TECHNOLOGY JOB PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES.
The summer time project is a fun and creative way to ready young people for school, connect them to key resources and increase opportunities for job and internship placement. The project supports a network of nonprofit organization leaders working together in a unified for the empowerment of kids and students from low-income, under resourced communities.

The ongoing leadership development element of the project support capacity building activities and expands internship and job placement opportunities for students as they make plans towards educational excellence. Monthly community outreach efforts showcase opportunities in the technology sector, facilitates school readiness and program registration processes and inspires interest around programs with opportunities for careers in high income earning technology professions.

COMMUNITY ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT. SUPPORTING BLACK-OWNED BUSINESSES.
SYSTER Projects helps strengthen and support local small businesses and micro-businesses while also affirmatively affirming the commitment to support black-owned businesses, black entrepreneurs, veteran and women-owned businesses and businesses owned by other minority entrepreneurs. The Back to School project supports commitments toward after school learning labs and opportunities, educational excellence, scholarships, technology connectivity, financial literacy, health and wellness and student college readiness training workshops.

Our Back to School Cool SYSTER Project creates jobs, supports local businesses, promotes economic growth and expands student learning activities (students giving back to their communities through volunteer service opportunities) and promotes team building and employee /employer volunteer development partnerships (employee giving programs). The project expands pathways to engage with attendees in a dignified manner, connects students living in low-income households and families experiencing housing, health or food insecurity with local health, wellness and well-being community resources.

MCDF works with local faith based and civic organizations, film and media, the arts and technology sectors to bring dynamic learning experiences to inspired students and supportive partners who enjoy giving back to the communities and classrooms they love. This project has a positive impact on the community, increases capacity in the school to career pipeline, helps create full-time jobs or part-time equivalents, volunteer giving and student learning / resume building opportunities all aimed to empower individuals and help improve their quality of life .
