About Rhonda's Stop Bullying Foundation for Girls
Rhonda's Stop Bullying Foundation for Girls is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to empowering underserved communities through free, professional tax preparation services. What began as a mission to combat bullying has evolved into a comprehensive community support organization that recognizes financial stress as one of the greatest burdens facing American families today.
Our Mission
We provide grant-funded, no-cost tax preparation services to those who need it most: active-duty military service members, veterans, disabled veterans, retirees, seniors, and low-income families. Our mission is simple—ensure every individual we serve receives expert guidance, claims every eligible deduction and credit, and achieves the maximum refund possible without paying a dime.
Tax preparation should not be a source of anxiety or financial burden. For too many Americans, the complexity of the tax code creates barriers to claiming benefits they've rightfully earned. Veterans returning from service, seniors on fixed incomes, and families struggling to make ends meet often miss out on thousands of dollars in refunds simply because they cannot afford professional tax assistance or don't know what credits are available to them.
We're here to change that.
Who We Serve
Active-Duty Military Service Members
Our service members sacrifice so much for our country. The least we can do is ensure they receive every tax benefit available to them. Military tax situations can be complex—combat pay exclusions, moving expense considerations, and state residency issues require specialized knowledge. Our team understands these unique circumstances and provides expert guidance tailored to military families.
Veterans and Disabled Veterans
Veterans have served our nation with honor, and many face unique financial challenges upon returning to civilian life. Disabled veterans may qualify for additional tax benefits that often go unclaimed. We work closely with veteran communities to ensure those who served receive the financial support they deserve.
Underserved Communities
Low-income families face impossible choices every day—paying for tax preparation or putting food on the table should never be one of them. Predatory tax services often target these communities with high fees and refund anticipation loans that eat into hard-earned refunds. We provide a free, trustworthy alternative that puts money back in families' pockets.
Retirees and Seniors
Fixed incomes leave little room for unexpected expenses. Many seniors overpay on taxes or miss credits designed specifically for them. Our patient, compassionate team takes the time to understand each senior's situation and ensure they're not leaving money on the table.
Our Services
Professional Tax Preparation
Our team of skilled tax professionals handles everything from simple returns to more complex filings. We stay current on tax law changes, credits, and deductions to maximize every client's refund. Each return receives careful attention and thorough review before filing.
VITA Program Partnership
We proudly participate in the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which offers free tax help to people who generally make $64,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English-speaking taxpayers. Our VITA-certified volunteers meet rigorous IRS standards for quality and accuracy.
Financial Literacy Education
Tax preparation is just one piece of financial wellness. We offer educational workshops and resources that help community members understand tax basics, maintain proper records throughout the year, and make informed financial decisions. Knowledge is power, and we're committed to empowering our community with the information they need to thrive.
Year-Round Support
Tax season doesn't end on April 15th. We provide year-round assistance with tax questions, amended returns, IRS correspondence, and planning for the upcoming tax year. Our clients know they can count on us whenever they need guidance.
Our Impact
Every refund we help secure represents real change in someone's life. A single mother can finally afford reliable transportation to get to work. A veteran can catch up on medical bills. A senior can keep the heat on through winter. These aren't just numbers—they're lives transformed through accessible financial services.
Through community outreach and word-of-mouth referrals, we continue to expand our reach each year. We measure success not just in returns filed, but in the trust we build within the communities we serve.
Our Volunteers
None of this would be possible without our dedicated volunteers. From tax preparers to community outreach coordinators, our volunteers give their time and expertise to make a difference. We provide comprehensive training, ongoing support, and the satisfaction of knowing your work directly impacts families in need.
Volunteer opportunities include:
Tax preparation and review
Client intake and scheduling
Community outreach and education
Administrative support
Veteran and senior outreach
Translation services
Advocacy and Awareness
Beyond direct services, we advocate for policies that expand access to free tax assistance programs. We work to raise awareness about predatory tax services that exploit vulnerable populations and promote alternatives that protect consumers.
We believe everyone deserves access to accurate, affordable tax assistance regardless of income, background, or circumstances. Through continued advocacy, we aim to influence positive change at local, state, and national levels.
Get Involved
Join us in making a difference. Whether you volunteer your time, make a financial contribution, or simply spread the word about our services, you become part of a community dedicated to empowerment and equity.
Together, we can ensure that no veteran, senior, service member, or struggling family faces tax season alone. Together, we're building a brighter financial future for everyone.
