At Global Paint for Charity, we believe that every gallon of leftover paint has the power to create beauty, opportunity, and hope. Through our Latex Paint Recycling Program, we collect unused paint from households and businesses across the United States and Canada, keeping it out of landfills and putting it to work for those in need around the world.

How the Program Works:
Every year, millions of gallons of leftover paint are improperly discarded, contributing to air pollution, groundwater contamination, harming ecosystems, and occupying precious landfill space. Just one gallon of paint can contaminate up to 250,000 gallons of drinking water if not disposed of properly.

That’s why we’ve created a cost-free, sustainable solution for individuals and businesses to recycle paint responsibly.

We collect usable latex paint from:

Individuals and homeowners

Paint manufacturers and retailers

Contractors and professional painters

Casinos, Resorts, Hotels, Condos and Apartments, Office Buildings, and Subdivisions

Property management facilities and public buildings

We accept interior and exterior latex paint in any quantity (even partially filled containers), as well as new, unopened oil-based paint.

What Happens Next?
Once collected, the paint is sorted, consolidated, and either:

Shipped to underserved communities around the world (approximately 70% of all recovered paint) or re-donated to local nonprofits, muralists, veterans, low-income families, schools, shelters, and beautification projects across the U.S. and Canada (30%).

This program not only reduces waste, but it also restores hope, happiness, pride, and dignity in communities that need it most.

The Impact So Far:
Over 5 million gallons of paint were recovered and distributed

More than 44 countries and 25+ major U.S. cities served

Tens of thousands of gallons donated to local school renovations, public mural projects, youth centers, soccer fields, basketball stadiums, and veterans’ housing rehabilitation

Thousands of volunteers and donors engaged through paint drives, local painting projects, and collection events
