CHAMP ASSISTANCE DOGS

CHAMP Assistance Dogs trains and places service dogs with children and adults with physical and cognitive disabilities. It takes approximately 2-2 1/2 years to train a service dog. It can cost CHAMP up to $30,000 for each dog, but they are placed free-of-charge with qualifying individuals.

We also train and place facility dogs. Facility dogs are trained to work with a professional serving a specific population. We have placed facility dogs in hospitals to work with children with autism, in a pediatric hospital to work with children in physical therapy, in a child advocacy center where the dog comforts children during forensic interviews and in a court room to comfort children and young victims.

In addition, CHAMP Therapy Dogs visit many individuals each year in hospitals, schools, homeless centers, assisted living centers, hospice centers, the USO and Veteran's Home.
