MBIC is a Chicago-based nonprofit providing community-based services that help older adults, veterans, and adults living with cognitive, neurological, physical, and other life challenges remain active, connected, and independent within their communities.
For more than 25 years, MBIC has helped individuals strengthen daily living skills, improve cognitive functioning, access nutritious meals, reduce social isolation, and navigate complex healthcare and community resource systems. Our programs provide structure, purpose, meaningful relationships, and opportunities that improve quality of life.
MBIC serves individuals living with brain injury, stroke, aging-related cognitive changes, chronic health conditions, developmental and physical disabilities, mental health challenges, and other circumstances that may create barriers to independence.
Our services include:
• Adult day programming
• Community-based support
• Life skills development
• Cognitive wellness activities
• Community integration
• Food access and nutrition
• Resource navigation
• Caregiver support
• Wellness and therapeutic programming
Many of the individuals we serve live on fixed incomes and rely on MBIC for consistent support, meaningful social connection, nutritious meals, and opportunities to remain engaged in their communities.
Every donation and volunteer helps sustain programs that reduce isolation, strengthen independence, and improve quality of life for the individuals and families we serve.
