NATIONAL SOCIETY OF THE SONS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION

The Indiana SAR is a nonprofit, nonpartisan patriotic society of men who have traced their ancestry to a supporter of American independence during the Revolutionary War. Chartered in 1889, we are committed to honoring the legacy of our patriot ancestors through historic preservation, youth education, and civic engagement.

Our charitable efforts focus on cultivating the next generation of informed citizens and leaders. We award scholarships and host statewide youth competitions in essay writing, public speaking, ROTC, Eagle Scout service, and American history. We partner with educators, schools, and veterans’ groups to promote civics, constitutional literacy, and Revolutionary War history.

We also fund and maintain historical monuments and grave markers, and support site preservation projects across Indiana. Our volunteer-led organization stewards professionally managed restricted funds dedicated to youth programs, historical education, and America 250th commemoration efforts.
