Devons Legacy Foundation Corporation

Devon’s Legacy Foundation (DLF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Orlando, Florida (EIN: 33-3752649) that empowers underserved young adults (ages 16–26) to pursue and thrive in firefighting careers. Founded in 2025 by a mother honoring her son Devon’s legacy of courage and service, DLF removes the financial and access barriers that keep motivated candidates from entering Fire Academy and securing employment. Our model combines: (1) Fire Academy Scholarships covering tuition, required turnout gear, and certification/testing fees; (2) Ignite-A-Legacy Mentorship, pairing each scholar with a veteran firefighter for monthly guidance and career navigation; and (3) a free 6-week Public Service Leadership Certificate, delivered virtually to build job-ready skills in leadership, ethics, teamwork under pressure, and community safety. The result is a clearer, affordable pathway from interest to certification and hiring—strengthening public safety while honoring Devon’s legacy through measurable impact.
