Alexandria Aces Collegiate Summer Baseball Team Grant Request

The Alexandria Aces, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization under Capitol Baseball, are seeking financial support to continue providing high-quality, affordable summer baseball entertainment to the Alexandria, VA, community. As a member of the prestigious Cal Ripken Summer Baseball League for 20 years, the Aces have not only been League Champions but have also fostered a tradition of community engagement, youth mentorship, and athletic excellence.

This grant will help cover essential operating expenses necessary to maintain and enhance the Alexandria Aces’ ability to provide a competitive and community-centered baseball program.

Our primary expenses include:
Staffing – Coaches and administrative support
Field Maintenance – Upkeep of Frank Mann Field to ensure player safety and an enjoyable fan experience
Player Meals – Nutrition support for athletes throughout the season
Transportation – Travel costs for away games
Field Permits & City Permits – Required fees for game operations
Game-Day Operations – Umpires, announcers, and other event management costs
Uniforms & Equipment – Jerseys, hats, bats, gloves, and safety gear
Insurance – Liability coverage for players, staff, and attendees
Marketing & Community Outreach – Promotional efforts to engage the local community and attract fans

The Aces are dedicated to making baseball accessible to all by keeping ticket prices low ($7 for adults, $3 for kids) and offering affordable concessions. Additionally, we collaborate with local organizations to spotlight their missions at each of our 20 home games, including:

American Legion (supporting veterans)
Boys & Girls Club (youth programs)
Chamber of Commerce (local business support)
Other nonprofits focused on education, health, and community welfare

Through these partnerships, we provide a platform for local causes, fostering deeper community connections while creating a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere at our games.
