There’s a quiet crisis building. Neighbors in our communities are living in increasingly unsafe housing conditions, compromising their health and well-being. Millions of aging homes in our country have leaky roofs, broken heating and plumbing and other dangerous conditions that place our neighbors’ lives at risk. These everyday emergencies require our immediate attention, but they take place behind closed doors – out of sight and out of mind.
We believe in a nation where everyone, regardless of income or circumstance, can count on the roof over their head—where we care for each other and create vibrant, resilient communities.
At Rebuilding Together, every project begins with a promise: to make a lasting impact. We listen to neighbors to understand their needs and improve their safety and well-being. Our repairs don’t just make homes safer—they transform lives. These repairs provide families with safety and stability that lasts many years. Every dollar is stretched to reach as many homes as possible, helping those who need it most. This is more than repairs—it’s about creating opportunity and strengthening communities.
Rebuilding Together’s work goes far beyond essential home repairs—we have a deep impact on neighbors’ lives. A repaired window shields a family from extreme weather, keeping them healthy. A simple grab bar grants years of independence to older adults who want to age safely at home. A new stove brings the opportunity of home-cooked meals. Every repair we make is more than just a fix—it’s a foundation for safety and stability. With each home we repair, we’re creating the opportunity for neighbors and families to thrive.
Older neighbors are feeling trapped in their own homes because simple, everyday tasks can become obstacles. Stairs feel risky, and a missing grab bar could mean the difference between safety and a serious fall. After a lifetime of hard work, many older adults can’t afford the simple modifications that would keep them in the homes they love. That’s when Rebuilding Together steps in. With simple, cost-effective, life-changing repairs—like railings and accessibility ramps, our older neighbors can age in place with confidence. These repairs aren’t just about safety, they preserve independence and community connections.
ild’s home should be a place of safety, not a source of stress. But for too many families, broken windows, faulty wiring and unsafe plumbing put children at daily risk—making it harder to just be a kid. By making homes safer, we are creating the foundation for the stable, secure homes children need to grow, learn and thrive. A safe home isn’t just shelter—it’s the foundation for a child’s success. Through home repairs, we are investing in children–the future of our communities.
Join Rebuilding Together. Let’s open the door and get to work.
