Project Hope is NLHHC’s dedicated program for veterans experiencing homelessness, offering specialized support to help them achieve stability, housing, and self-sufficiency. Recognizing the unique challenges veterans may face—such as service-related trauma, difficulty transitioning to civilian life, or navigating VA benefits—Project Hope provides individualized case management, access to medical and mental health services, and connections to housing and employment resources. The program emphasizes dignity, respect, and empowerment, ensuring that those who served our country receive the targeted assistance they need to rebuild their lives and regain their independence.
HHC owns two multifamiy homes that are dedicated to Veterans. If a Veteran can maintain sobriety, they will get to live in supportive housing with roommates and a house manager while they work toward getting back on their feet.
If a Veteran is suffering from issues that make it difficult to live with others, including not being sober or clean, they may stay in one of two private rooms at the shelter that are dedicated to Veterans.
Private foundation and individual funding is always needed to support our Veterans in the ways that government grant-funded programs do not.
